Tubewell drilling is carried out in sedimentary formations where layers such as sand, clay, silt, gravel, and mud are commonly encountered. Since the soil is loose and unconsolidated, the drilling technique used for tubewells is entirely different from hard rock borewell drilling.
The Rotary / Calyx method ensures safe and stable drilling through soft soil layers. Tubewell drilling is a time-intensive process and may take anywhere from a few weeks to nearly a month depending on depth, formation conditions, and aquifer behavior.
